The best time to discover that you have signed up on the wrong character is before the organiser starts arranging the group. A few minutes of preparation can spare everybody a conversation during invitations.
Read the full event description. Check the realm, start time, expected finish and any stated requirements. A sample article cannot tell you which supplies a future WoW Forever raid will need; the organiser should specify those for the actual run.
Confirm the main or alt you signed up with.
Check the role you are expected to fill.
Tell the organiser about a change in availability.
Make sure you can hear the group in the chosen Discord voice channel.
Those checks do not replace raid eligibility or character verification. They make it easier for the people handling invitations to find the intended players.
Repair, organise your bags and obtain whatever the event description asks you to bring. Give yourself enough travel time for the agreed meeting point.
If you are on the reserve list, check what the organiser expects. A reserve place should not require somebody to sit silently at their computer for an entire evening without a clear arrangement.
Life occasionally wins against a calendar. Let the organiser know as early as you can. An honest cancellation gives the group a chance to find another player.
This temporary checklist demonstrates a practical journal article. It is not a published raid policy, a real event announcement or a claim about beta game mechanics.
